Music and Staying Up Later
8/8/1

TC made me a CD that Im listening to right now. He titled it Old Peoples Music since I was mocking him, Labman, and Leafy in the lab yesterday when they were all talking about music from the 1970s that no one knows.

But yesterday, since a CD player came in Labmans new (new to him) car, and hes never had one before, I told him Id make him a CD. I also encouraged TC to make one. Mine is mostly new stuff while TC made one he titled WAHR type Old People Music. WAHR is the dentist office music station around here.

There used to be an even more easy listening one called Beautiful 97. Just a few seconds of it reminded me of the music they play insane asylums on TV and in movies.

Yesterday, when I got home. I played some Gran Turismo 3, but really didnt accomplish anything. Im planning on doing that irritating 150-mile race when I get home today. I better win one of those Formula One cars. Heck, I can only do so many endurance races. And unfortunately, my laziness makes me keep doing the same one over and over since its the shortest and on an oval track.

I can sleep and drive around an oval correctly. To keep it interesting, I knock over pylons and then boot them on the next lap. Getting too involved in the pylon smacking makes me occasionally hit the wall. Oh, that and smacking other cars as I lap them. If I do it this time, I think Ill get a different car rigged up. I keep driving the same 1990 Skyline.

Enough GT3, no one cares anyway. Or all the little playstationers out there arent going to be finding this site anyway.

When Aisai got home, we watched the Biography (its a show, thats why its capitalized) on Ben Stien and had spaghetti. Aisai decided to cheap out and we had lame old Ragu sauce on our pasta. We also ran out of the dust parmesan cheese, though we did have enough of the stick kind for our Caesar salads.

Why does MS Word want me to capitalize Caesar? Its not like Im talkin bout Julius.

After that I burned a CD for Jones and Aisai burned her self one. We used the free version of Musicmatch which is slow as Christmas so we also played Venture, the 1970s card game from 3M, while they burned.

Ebay has a copy of Venture with a minimum bid of 10 bucks and 5 dollars shipping. I am thinking of picking it up as a gift for Christmas, but I think we got our copy for around $1 or $2. Seems steep, but when you know what you want, sometimes it costs money.

I doubt anyone else will bid on it.

I have three, the maximum, standing searches at ebay that email me when things come up. Sony Shirt is mainly because I want a Sony Aloha Classic T-shirt. I lost a bid on that by, like, 50 cents. I need to be the snipee rather than the sniped. I did win a different Sony Shirt, just plain white with the word Sony on it.

Im so Sony loyal, or at least I try to be. If theyd make good stuff cheaper and if their cheaper stuff wasnt so dang cheap. I guess all I own is the CD changer, the Playstation 2, and my CD burner is a Sony. The Sony software that came with the burner is really nice and fast, but Musicmatch is easier on the front end.

I still have to keep Winamp around since stupid Musicmatch wont tell me the time of the play list that Ive made. Excuse me, where is that very simple feature? I make tapes with this thing. In fact, that was the sold purpose of the computer before the CD burner. Now its a ripper and a tape maker. Ive used less than 8 of the 50 CDs that I got in that spindle.

Todd Rundgren sounds like a girl.

And late last night, as I was getting ready for bed, I noticed that the replaytv wasnt recording. I looked at my watch and sure enough, it was after 10 p.m. I checked to see that we did get Battlebots and then said, Id rather be stupid and stay up late and watch Battlebots. So I did.

Not as good as last weeks matches, which were Instant Classic Status. Not really worth saying up late since I could have watched it tomorrow, I mean today.

And when the alarm went off at 5:30, I was a good little droog and got up and got ready. Ate my Special K Red Berries and read my Yahoo Internet Life magazine, which I got a free subscription to.

I have a free subscription to that and Electronic Gaming Monthly. I used to have a free subscription to Motortrend, or if you prefer, as I do, Morotrend, since that magazine is written for Camaro driving cro-mags.

Hmm, I guess I better drink some coffee.

Aisai is taking her mom to the Specialist in Birmingham, about 2 hours away, today. I forgot what about. Probably thyroid or her Lasik sliced eye. Oh, those surgeries do go bad, dont kid yourself. Its rolling the dice.

Im trying to get psyched up for the fieldwork that I have today. Feh!

Oh, and I drew up some new icons, but I didnt scan them. The dog icons Im very happy with.
