Easter Weekend: Mexican & Food
4/17/1

Im just not in the writing mood.

I did write a rather long entry about what I did over the weekend, but it just didnt seem interesting to me. Not that my weekend wasnt interesting. It was full of eating out, yard work, buying plants, and playing Top Gear Dare Devil. I also taught the first three chapters of Ecclesiastes in the college age singles class and we had chili at Aisai's moms house for Easter.

We also saw the mediocre chick-noir flick The Mexican. The best thing you can say about the movie is that the cinematographer seemed to have a lot of fun and was talented. But the script shows that it was obviously better in a previous revision. Some things dont fit with the feel that the rest of the movie has. Its almost two movies: The Mexican movie with Brad Pitt doing a few gestures from 12 Monkeys in a modern mob noir and The Julia Roberts move with self help book jokes, VW Beetle chase scenes, and ham fisted pro-gay propaganda.

Why the word chase in quotes? Because sure the Beetle drives very quickly and the footage gets your blood pumping, but they arent running from anyone or anything. In fact, the speeding VW footage is on the same interstate that they stop on after a few minutes to talk/barf under an overpass. If anyone was chasing them, theyd catch up. Well, unless they exited.

It was a movie where Julia Roberts brand Star Power ruined another film. Not that she is a bad actress, its just that she has the star power to have changes made to films if shell sign on. The Beetles presence wasnt a glitch in the noir, nor was the self-help books. But the way that Julia played her character, and the above mentioned awkward lifestyle statement.

The person who wrote the plot and some of the good parts didnt write the perverted gay mailman who gets off on delivering porn magazines. I joke not. Its in there.

So, where all did we eat out?

Thursday night Aisai had a Business After Hours so she got home late. We ate at Applebees and the waiter primed us for his lousy service by telling us he was a lousy waiter. He did. And he was. They were short on personnel so he, a cook, was sent to wait tables. He still got a $4 tip since I pitied him.

Friday afternoon before the movie we ate at Fazolis. Saturday at lunch we ate at Cicis.

I kept my food intake in check and didnt gain any weight over the weekend. Good me. Pat pat.

Ive got the game Top Gear Dare Devil overdue a day from Movie Gallery. I completed it yesterday, but I didnt get all the little coins and wrenches and keys, so I dont feel that Ive really completed it. However, today Ill return it anyway.

I cant wait until Gran Turismo 3 comes out.

I just sneezed so hard I almost fell out of my chair.
